Five youngsters charged over break and enter

Four teens and a younger boy have been charged over alleged property offences following a break and enter at Green Point on Wednesday, December 18.

At about 12.10am police were called to the home and told that a group allegedly entered a Green Point home before lighting a fire and fleeing with items.

The occupant extinguished the fire and contacted Brisbane Water Police who commenced inquiries into the incident.

A short time later, police were called to a second home at Green Point following reports a wallet, keys, cash and a mobile phone had allegedly been stolen.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested five boys – one aged 12, one 14 and three aged 13 – at around 8.30am.

The 13-year-old boy was charged with various offences and refused bail to appear before a children’s court on December 18, where he was formally refused bail to appear before the court on Friday, January 17.

The 14-year-old boy and the two 13-year-olds were charged with various offences and refused bail to appear before a children’s court on December 18, where they were granted strict conditional bail to appear before the same court on Tuesday, January 14.

The 12-year-old boy was released pending further inquiries.
