More than 400 people from across the Central Coast participated in a seniors’ forum on Tuesday, October 22, at Central Coast Leagues Club.
Organised by Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid, the forum featured an appearance by Assistant Minister for Women, Social Security, and Ageing, Kate Thwaites.
The Robertson Seniors’ Forum included representatives from Services Australia and covered a range of services and support measures that the Federal Government is providing to assist Australians with the cost of living.
The hour-long forum also provided the community with an opportunity to ask the Assistant Minister and Reid questions about Services Australia and aged care.
“With over 400 attendees, the Robertson Seniors’ Forum was our most successful community event,” Reid said.
“Covering the supports that are provided by Services Australia, and the cost-of-living measures being provided to our community by the Federal Labor Government, the forum was informative and helpful.
“Several measures that are now providing relief to our community were discussed including our $300 energy rebate for every household, cheaper PBS medications, and bulk billed Medicare Urgent Care Clinics.
“It was great to have so many people in our community participate in our forum and engage in conversations with me and the Assistant Minister.
“When I was elected in 2022, I made a commitment to always be accessible and dependable.
“I will continue to engage with our community and provide opportunities for people to get up close and personal with me and the Australian Government.”
