Social group for seniors

Members at a recent meeting

If you are new to the Central Coast or just want to make new friends, you might be interested in joining the Seniors Social and Friendship Club.

Originally formed in May 1995 as VOTE (Voice Of The Elderly), the group holds monthly meetings at 10am on the second Monday of each month at Gosford RSL Club.

The next meeting will be on September 9.

The group has a program of outings and new members can attend two meetings and two social outings before being obliged to become a member.

The annual fee is $20 plus $2 per meeting.

Many outings make use of Gold Opal cards to keep transport costs down and there are regular lunches at local venues including a monthly birthday lunch.

“We believe in doing outings as a group that you might not do individually,” a spokesperson said.

“As one of our founding members said, we should stay young, stay healthy and enjoy life to the fullest.”
