Learn about significant cultural sites

Bob Pankhurst

The Central Coast Aboriginal Culture Appreciation Community is hosting a public event with guest speaker Bob Pankhurst on Saturday, August 24, at Kincumber Neighborhood Centre.

Whether you live or work on the Central Coast, the Appreciation Community invites everyone to come and learn about local cultural sites, artefacts, and the incredible but little-known history that surrounds the Central Coast.

Bob Pankhurst has spent much of his life exploring, recording and photographing Aboriginal rock carvings and other significant Aboriginal sites on the Central Coast.

He will speak about petroglyphs, cupules, grinding grooves and much more, and his insights can help people make informed choices about heritage.

The Central Coast Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation Community invites the public to come and gain a deeper understanding of the heritage and culture of the First Peoples of the Central Coast.

In addition to residents, Central Coast Council election candidates are invited if they want to support heritage and preservation.

The event is on between 2pm and 4pm and entry is $5 per person at the door to cover costs.
