Two Central Coast drivers have each been issued with fines of $2959 and six demerit points in separate speeding incidents in 60km/h zones.
They were both charged with exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
A 27-year-old man was detected by Brisbane Water Highway Patrol at 8.20pm on Friday, August 2 driving along Brisbane Water Dr at Tascott.
Police clocked the Hyundai i30 travelling at 149km/h in a 60km/h zone, using lane one to pass a number of vehicles in lane two.
The driver was stopped by police and produced an unrestricted driver’s licence. He was issued with a penalty notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h which came with a $2959 fine and six demerit points.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended and confiscated for six months and the vehicle’s registration plates were seized and surrendered to Service NSW for a period of three months.
In another speeding incident a black Holden Commodore ute was clocked at 124km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Police detected the vehicle on Saturday, August 3 at about 4.30pm on Central Coast Hwy at Wamberal while the driver was changing lanes to pass other traffic in the area.
When the male driver was stopped he produced a unrestricted drivers licence which was immediately suspended and confiscated for six months, along with the car’s number plates for three months.
