Further housing density on the Coast

The NSW Government has just announced new planning measures for both Gosford and Tuggerah to facilitate more housing density across these key transport hubs.

According to the State Government, this will mean the construction of new residential flat buildings, shoptop housing and mandatory affordable housing provisions for developments that are more than 2,000sqm.

In Gosford, nine additional lots have been proposed to enter the Gosford Transit Oriented Development (TOD) precinct.

With these changes, it is estimated that 5,850 new homes will be unveiled over the next 15 years.

For Tuggerah, eight new lots have been proposed for the Tuggerah TOD, aiming to facilitate an additional 1,600 new homes over the next 15 years.

While increasing housing supply must remain a key priority for the Central Coast, we must ensure that these sites are appropriate for increased density and that supporting infrastructure comes in alongside it.
