Try your hand at pottery on the day

If you’re interested in practical and crafty creations, you won’t want to miss the Gosford Arts Precinct Community Open Day on Saturday, July 28.

At 8 Russell Drysdale St, East Gosford, five well established community groups are operating, staffed by skilled volunteers.

They are known as the Gosford Arts Precinct Community and invite residents to explore their special offerings at the community day.

You will have the chance to join the potters, get your hands dirty playing with clay and admire the many samples of finished products.

At the Spinners and Weavers Cottage you can learn about spinning, weaving and other fabric designs.

Fall in love with a piece of handmade art that you just have to buy.

The Makers Studio will be in the Lions Community Hall where you can make a print and see many demonstrations of other techniques.

There will be pop up shop for ceramics and market stalls for textile art as well as the famous Lions sausage sizzle

The Central Coast Family History Society cottage will let you use its Ancestry, Find my Past, My Heritage or Family Search programs to investigate your family tree.

Beginners or more experienced folk are always welcome at the Gosford groups.
