Three Central Coast teams enjoyed success at the NSW Country Rugby Championships in Tamworth over the long weekend.
The teams played numerous matches over the weekend before achieving success.
Central Coast Rugby Union (CCRU) Senior XV team won the prestigious Caldwell Cup after defeating Illawarra in the final by 46-43.
In a cliffhanger of a final, the Central Coast boys kicked a penalty goal on full-time to get the mighty victory.
The team had defeated Far North Coast and Mid North Coast to reach the final.
Central Coast has been in the final for the past three years in a row and have won two.
The CCRU Colts won all of their four matches to take the Rowlands Cup Championship for the second year running.
All games were tight, but the final winning match against Central West saw the Central Coast team score at the final bell to take the title.
The CCRU Women’s XV won the Shield Final after defeating Illawarra in the final.
They had a win and a loss on the first day but it was enough for them to reach the Shield final and achieve a hard fought 9-0 victory.
It is the first time in the history of Central Coast Rugby that the Zone achieved three trophies in the one championships.
Between them, the three teams achieved nine wins, with only one single one-point loss over the weekend.
