Central Coast Council has been alerted by community members that a person purporting to be a Council employee is knocking on doors in the Blue Haven and Lake Munmorah areas, and asking residents a series of questions about their homes.
Council said in a statement that the person is not employed or affiliated in any way to Central Coast Council.
Police have been notified, and Council is urging any resident to also report immediately to Police if this person or persons approaches them on their property.
Council said that their employees would always clearly identify themselves and residents are urged to always insist on seeing identification.
