Rugby comp resumes on Saturday

There will be ground improvements at Morry Breen Oval before the 2024 season kick-off

With all rugby matches cancelled on Saturday, May 11, due to wet ground conditions, Round 5 of the Central Coast Rugby Union Competition will now be played this Saturday, May 18.

The match of the day will see the Razorbacks travelling to Heazlett Park to take on Avoca Beach in what will be a great game of rugby.

The Razorbacks had a resounding victory two weeks ago over Woy Woy but they will find this tussle a much tougher one on Saturday.

They are playing the current Premiers, who are also at home.

Gosford will host Lake Macquarie at Gosford Showground.

This will prove an interesting clash.

Gosford are at home but they have not played for a couple of weeks because of their bye, as well as the general bye.

Lake Macquarie lost in a close match two weeks ago against Warnervale, so they are a very tough opposition.

Warnervale will host Woy Woy at Woongarah Oval.

Warnervale will be pleased to be home this week and will go into this match as firm favourites against Woy Woy.

Terrigal have the bye in Premier 1 rugby.

In the Central Coast Women’s 12s competition Terrigal meets The Lakes, Woy Woy and Warnervale play each other and Avoca Beach meets the Razorbacks at home.

In the President’s Cup, Warnervale meets Kariong, Terrigal plays The Lakes, Avoca Beach and the Razorbacks meet and Lake Macquarie and The Bay face each other.
