Rodeo protest planned for Gosford

The group will protest the use of animals in entertainment events

Coasties for Animal Welfare will hold a protest outside The Entertainment Grounds in Gosford at 3pm on June 8, just prior to the Bull Throttle rodeo event to begin there at 4.30pm.

“Our group comprises people from various Central Coast organisations such as Animal Liberation, the Animal Justice Party, the RSPCA and other local groups,” a spokesperson said.

“Everybody is welcome to speak up for the animals and everyone is encouraged to come along.

“Please bring your own placards although some will be provided.

“This is a non-violent, non-confrontational protest.

“Bulls are forced to entertain the crowd by being ridden while they are in agony due to the flank strap.

“All animals that are used in entertainment must be freed to live their lives in peace.”

  1. Stop this abhorrent outdated tradition.

  2. Well, a noisy 8 people protested the thousands of people that attended the event. I think the ratio tells how the majority really feel about this. Once again, overrepresented and given a platform to judge others and attempt to divide a strong local community.
