Terrigal Wamberal Rugby League and Youth Club has received $5,000 from the Federal Government’s 2023/24 Volunteer Grants.

The club plans to use the funds to purchase critical equipment to help its volunteers undertake activities including in the canteen and on the field.

“I wish to congratulate Terrigal Wamberal Sharks on receiving this volunteer grant which will go towards supporting the club’s volunteers and players,” Federal Member for Robertson Gordon Reid said.

“Our sporting organisations are phenomenal and bring our community members together.

“I wish the Terrigal Wamberal Sharks all the best in this year’s season and look forward to continuing to assist the club.”

Terrigal Wamberal Sharks spokesperson Matthew Edghill said the grant would be used to purchase equipment that would support the volunteers and ultimately, the players and club community.

“The funding will also be used to undertake accreditation training for volunteers which is a great help for the club too,” he said.

“We are a club of 600 to 700 members, so this funding will go a long way to support our wider community.”
