Governments, politicians ignore health concerns of power stations

We frown over the way Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are oblivious to outside scrutiny, yet are the citizens of NSW copping the same treatment from the Labor Party or government health departments when it comes to our health?

The statistics and figures are well known by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the mapping of cancers on the Australian Cancer Atlas, although when brought to the government’s attention they are oblivious to the health conditions of citizens living near power stations and coal ash dams.

As found by Daniel Mookhey (NSW Treasurer) when chairing the Legislative Council Public Works Committee Inquiry into coal ash dams of which 16 critical recommendations were put forward.

The Inquiry criticised NSW EPA and NSW Health and then went on to state that in conjunction with the lack of research conducted to date on this matter, demonstrates a complete disregard by the government towards the health of its citizens.

I have written to minister after minister, health, environment and especially Daniel Mookhey with very little response.

Spoken to and met with every state and federal MP on the Central Coast on these matters without any support to the community’s concerns.

I sit on the Community Consultative Committee with Eraring power station and have researched government findings on chronic health conditions and cancers, yet not a word from those who are supposed to look after our communities, our politicians.

Is it a matter of being in the too hard basket or simply they don’t care, much the same as Putin or Jinping?

I know where my thoughts are.
