Dinosaurs are back at reptile park

The dinosaurs are back at the Australian Reptile Park – and much sooner than expected.

Due to popular demand, the dinosaur stars of Ancient Animals, the Park’s summer school holidays event, are returning for a special appearance every weekend next month for Jurassic June.

Dinosaurs will be on the loose, roaming throughout the Park.

The mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex, formidable Indoraptor and a Pachycephalosaurus will captivate audiences with their realistic movements and awe-inspiring size.

These 2.4m-high animatronic dinosaurs will take daily walks, allowing children and adults to interact with them and truly immerse themselves in a land before time.

While the animatronic dinosaurs steal the show, the Australian Reptile Park has its own “living dinosaurs” that visitors can observe in action.

Elvis, the iconic saltwater crocodile, will showcase his prehistoric prowess during his 1.30pm show.

As one of the crankiest crocs in Australia, Elvis will leave spectators in awe as they witness the strength of his enormous snapping jaws.

Park Director Liz Gabriel said the dinosaurs were always a huge attraction.

“In addition to dinosaur appearances in the Park throughout each weekend, we’ll have a free gigantic obstacle course for the kids to run wild on, as well as free face painting available only throughout the June long weekend,” Gabriel said.

“These activities are included in everyone’s June long weekend zoo ticket.”

Roving keepers will be wandering around with a variety of scaly reptiles and cuddly mammals for guests to meet and greet.

To really get up close and personal with Park residents, guests can book an Animal Encounter, Behind-The-Scenes tour or one of the popular and interactive Kids 2 Keepers programs.
