Phillip Shovk and Georg Pedersen will return to Central Coast Conservatorium’s Robert Knox Hall for the first Charmian and Friends afternoon concert for 2024 at 2.30pm on Sunday, April 7.
The musical duo will be performing cello and piano sonatas by Beethoven, Shostakovich and Debussy.
Conservatorium patron and violinist Charmian Gadd said the show would be a “banquet of three masterpieces”.
The program includes Beethoven’s Sonata Opus 69 in A Major, Shostakovich’s Sonata in D minor Opus 40 and Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Piano.
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting students at Central Coast Conservatorium.
The Con will also hold its first Premier Ensembles Concert for the year at Gosford Anglican Church at 7.30pm on Friday, April 5.
Flagship ensembles the Primary Wind Ensemble, the Symphonic Wind Orchestra and Central Coast Youth Orchestra will perform under the batons of conductors Kevin Smith, E-Yang Liu and Patrick Brennan
The ensembles will be joined by Central Coast Children’s and Youth Choirs.
