The Australian Reptile Park is gearing up for a Wild Aussie Weekend in celebration of Australia Day from Friday, January 26, to Sunday, January 28.

To kick off the festivities and get into the true Aussie spirit, keepers gifted resident crocodile Elvis a gigantic piece of lamb on Thursday, January 25.

The highlight of the three-day extravaganza will be the daily feast for Elvis, fondly known as Australia’s Crankiest Croc.

Each day throughout the Wild Aussie Weekend, Elvis will be treated to a colossal piece of lamb at 1.30pm, creating a spectacle for guests as they watch the giant reptile devour his feast.

In addition to Elvis’ daily feast, there will be three American alligator feedings each day, giving guests the chance to see more than 40 hungry alligators go into a feeding frenzy.

For those seeking a more hands-on, interactive experience, visitors can meet and greet the Park’s adorable iconic Aussie animals such as koalas, lizards, snakes and hand-feed the friendly kangaroos.

Throughout the long weekend, guests can also enjoy the Park’s daily live shows, where they will learn about Australia’s fascinating creatures, including koalas, Tasmanian devils, and more.

“Our Wild Aussie Weekend is a celebration of the diversity and beauty of Australia’s wildlife,” Park Director Tim Faulkner said.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for families and wildlife enthusiasts to connect with our amazing creatures, learn about our conservation efforts, and simply end the school holidays with a family fun day out.”

The Park will provide a free jumping castle and free face painting throughout the weekend.
