Member or Dobell Emma McBride has wished residents across the Central Coast a Happy New Year.
“Like many locals, my family and I celebrated by watching the spectacular fireworks at The Entrance,” McBride said.
“For more than seven years it’s been my privilege to be a strong voice for the Coast in Canberra.
“In 2024, I’ll continue to work hard for our community.
“Our government has delivered two Medicare Urgent Care Clinics on the Central Coast at Lake Haven and Umina Beach.
“These services are 100 per cent bulk billed and provide seven day a week, walk-in treatment for urgent, but non-life-threatening emergencies.
“In 2023, more than 150,000 people in NSW completed a course through our Fee-Free TAFE program, providing them with the skills they need to find secure employment.
“That’s why we’re delivering 300,000 more Fee-Free TAFE positions in 2024.”
McBride, who is Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, said the government would continue to roll out Head to Health centres across the country, like those in Tuggerah and West Gosford.
“These centres provide mental health support and assistance, when and where it’s needed,” she said.
McBride said the Coast road network presented a challenge.
“We all know how damaged our local roads are, which is why we’re investing $40M to fix Central Coast roads and throughout 2024 we will see significant progress on these road works,” she said.
“Whether it’s at a school presentation, while I’m on patrol at Toowoon Bay SLSC, or at one of my mobile offices, I’m always delighted to hear from locals.
“If you have any Federal Government matters that I can assist you with, please get in contact with my office.”
