Four Santas joined the fun

The four apprentice Santas were a big hit

Everyone loves to see Santa at a Christmas lunch – but the women of the Roving Rubies social club scored three of them when they gathered on the back deck of Kincumber Pub recently.

Queen Lilimarlene (Marlene Klintworth) said she managed to round-up three apprentice Santas with L plates, shorts and thongs for the Christmas party.

“They made a big entrance behind a prancing blow-up reindeer; everyone enjoyed it,” she said.

“And the wishes to Santa have a better chance when you sit on three laps and ask don’t they?”

About 55 women attended, including some from the Red Hat Society in Sydney.

“Our great duo Aubrey and Purton played great music and got them singing and up dancing,” Klintworth said.

“The newly decorated outdoor section was great.

“We are coming up to our 20th year, and welcoming new members.

“With 85 women of all ages and backgrounds it makes it an interesting group; there is always someone to talk to.

“Two women who have known each other through the Red Hatters discovered at the lunch that they went to the same schools and did not live very far apart.”

Klintworth said women looking to make new friends were welcome to join the group and the next luncheon would be on January 4 at Gosford RSL Club.
