As the Central Coast welcomes thousands of people over the holiday period, Central Coast Council is reminding residents and visitors alike to step lightly, with the region accredited as an ECO Destination.
Council is encouraging people to support as many aspects and attractions as possible across the Coast but minimise their footprint as they travel around.
”As one of only three destinations in NSW to achieve international recognition as a sustainable tourism destination through Ecotourism Australia’s ECO Destination Certification program we invite you to celebrate and support our local tourism industry which is committed to delivering more responsible tourism practices,” Council said.
“Be safe when you swim in the magnificent patrolled coastal beaches, be aware as you bushwalk on the many bush trails.
“Respect our native wildlife and the environment.
“The Visitor Information Centre at The Entrance is a fantastic place to visit, to not only find out about everything on the Coast, but also to buy a souvenir made by our own local creatives.”
The purpose-built space was recently renovated to improve access and inclusion to enable people with complex and high support needs to change comfortably and with dignity which increases their ability to visit and stay longer to enjoy the local environment and activities.
