The low-down on legal matters for seniors

Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch with copies of the diary

Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch is encouraging residents to call into her office for their copy of the 2024 Legal Topics for Seniors diary.

The diary is packed full of useful information for seniors about a wide range of legal issues – including driving and fines, disputes between neighbours, wills and planning ahead.

“I encourage seniors to come down to my office and pick up a copy, but get in fast, as we have limited copies and these always go extremely fast,” Tesch said.

“It is often difficult to find the important information needed to access government services, legal topics and seniors’ rights.

“This diary brings together many important topics in one place in an easy to navigate diary.”

Tesch’s office is at 20 Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy.

Diaries are also available from local libraries, Legal Aid NSW offices, some community legal centres and Aboriginal Legal Service offices.

They can also be ordered online at https://www.legalaid.nsw.gov.au/ways-to-get-help/publications-and-resources

Seniors are also encouraged to subscribe to ttps://www.nsw.gov.au/arts-and-culture/seniors-festival/whats-on/premiers-concert to be alerted when free tickets are available for the Premier’s Gala Concert to be held from March 13-14, 2024, at the ICC Aware Super Theatre.

Last year’s concert saw seniors enjoy performances from Kate Ceberano, Ross Wilson, Harrison Craig and Prinnie Stevens, with an exciting line-up expected for 2024.

“Seniors have a valuable and ongoing contribution to our families and communities and this gala provides a wonderful opportunity to say thank you,” Tesch said.

“Concert tickets dates will be announced in late January, 2024, and tickets always go quickly, so I encourage everyone to subscribe to learn when tickets go online.”
