Tech upgrade for Empire Bay Progress Association

Member for Robertson Gordon Reid and Empire Bay Progress Association President Ken Shaw

Empire Bay Progress Association has some updated technology thanks to a $1,000 grant through the Federal Government’s 2022-23 Volunteer Grants.

Association President Ken Shaw, said the grant had paid for a new phone, eftpos “square” and accessories.

“All grants benefit the community whether directly through infrastructure, new or upgraded facilities or indirectly in respect to this particular grant,” he said.

“It ensures the progress association has a reliable phone to manage hall bookings and hall maintenance while also enabling the use of eftpos facilities at progress association events allowing many people to pay via ‘tap and go’.

“The progress association members and committee donate their time voluntarily to support the community.

“Grants that can assist members in the provision of their services are very much appreciated.”

Reid said the funding would help ensure Empire Bay Progress Association could better manage its hall.

“I am pleased to know that new technology such as a new phone, eftpos ‘square’, and other accessories are being put to good use,” he said.

“Grants such as this one help support volunteers and strengthen our communities.”

The Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants provide not-for-profit organisations with funding of between $1,000 to $5,000 to support the work of its volunteers.
