Grassroots sporting clubs across the Central Coast are being encouraged to apply for funding under the Local Sport Grants Program.

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said $50,000 was on offer for his electorate.

Established by the former Coalition government in 2017, the Local Sport Grant Program has provided millions of dollars of funding for grassroots sporting clubs across NSW for projects that increase participation in sport as well as improving access and enhancing sporting facilities.

“Our local sporting clubs are built on the back of hard work and dedication of sporting volunteers, and this funding boost will certainly help these clubs to increase participation and upgrade facilities,” Crouch said.

“$50,000 is on offer to the Terrigal electorate this year, and I strongly encourage all of our local sporting clubs to put their applications in for funding, of which there were several successful applications last year.

“We want more people playing sport in NSW, and this funding boost will go that little bit further in our supporting our local clubs.”

Successful past applicants include the Terrigal Wamberal Rugby League and Youth Club, which received $10,000 for the upgrade of changeroom and bathroom facilities at Brandan Franklin Oval, as well as Kincumber-Avoca Cricket Club, which received $9,000 to grow participation of juniors, women, veterans and CALD individuals in cricket.

Applications for the 2023-24 Local Sport Grant Program close on November 27.
