HSC begins for Class of 2023

Almost 3,000 Central Coast students will sit the exams

Almost 3,000 Central Coast students began their HSC exams on Wednesday, October 11, with English Paper 1.

The exams will end with Food Technology on November 3.

Coast Labor MPs issued a message of encouragement to the HSC Class of 2023.

Minister for the Central Coast and Member for Wyong David Harris said he hoped all students would enter the exam rooms with a sense of achievement and confidence.

“Each student has done the hard work leading up to this point, and now is the time for students to show what they know,” he said.

“We also wish the families of our HSC students, who are providing crucial support during this challenging time, all the best.”

Member for Swansea Yasmin Catley said the community was behind each and every student and they take on the final chapter of their 13-year schooling and Member for The Entrance David Mehan gave a shout out to school communities including teachers, school support staff and principals, for all they do to support students throughout their school years.

Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch wished Central Coast students the best of luck but urged them to remember that their marks do not define them.

“I encourage every student to simply do their best and enter this new chapter of your life with a sense of confidence and excitement,” she said.

“Thank you to our teachers, school support staff and students’ families for fostering our students across their 13 years of schooling.

“You have brought these students up to this critical point, and today they can feel proud as they kick-off their written exams.”

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car said this year’s HSC would see close to 70,000 HSC students sit exams over an 18-day period.

Another 8,150 students studying one or more HSC courses will also sit exams over the next three weeks; most of these students are not yet in Year 12.

Students are set to receive their HSC results and ATARs on Thursday, December 14.

The NSW Department has created some great resources, including study tips and providing support during the HSC which can be found on the HSC Help page.
