Senior Associate at Seton Family Lawyers, Dominique Markwort, has been recognised for her contributions to the legal industry by being named a finalist in the Rising Star of the Year – SME Law Firm category in the national Women in Law Awards 2023.
The Women in Law Awards, a high-profile awards program that receives thousands of entries each year, recognises exceptional women in the Australian legal industry.
The Rising Star of the Year award recognises outstanding performance by a female lawyer in an SME law firm, within their first five years of practice.
“My approach has always been driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of my clients, my community and the legal industry,” Markwort said.
She is a nationally accredited mediator and family dispute resolution practitioner, in addition to an extensive list of qualifications including a Master of Applied Laws.
As one of only nine solicitor and family dispute resolution practitioners on the Central Coast, Markwort is specifically qualified to mediate family law and parenting disputes, enabling access to alternative dispute resolution processes for her clients.
She is also currently undertaking Independent Children’s Lawyer training, stemming from her own experience.
“As a child of separated parents, I became passionate about helping other parents navigate the legal system and undertaking this training is important in helping children just like me from feeling unheard in legal matters,” she said.
Securing a place as a finalist is widely acknowledged as a remarkable achievement in the legal industry.
