What a wonderful letter from Linda Telisman (CCN 404), written without malice and bias but (giving) all of the facts on the upcoming referendum.
Over the years there have been many Voices to the Aboriginal institutions we already have and billions of dollars have been handed over for supposedly all of the services.
Mr Albanese is promoting for the Voice.
Some of these services have probably been supported and the Indigenous people who wished to learn and make a better life for themselves gained higher places in our society – e.g. Warren Mundine and Jacinta Nampijinpa Price and many sporting participants.
If this Voice gets up it will not help any of the people in the remote and outback areas as we are being told it will, as they are the people who have had the same opportunities as a lot of other Indigenous people but for their own reasons choose to live their lives in that fashion.
It is so wrong for the big businesses and sporting groups (to coerce) people to vote Yes when they possibly have no idea of the upheaval it will bring to all Australians if it is enshrined in our Constitution.
Please, everyone, if you are unsure on voting day, vote No in writing on the ballot paper.
Do not use a tick or cross – it could be an invalid vote.
