Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation’s (PPCF) final funding round for 2023 opens on Tuesday, September 19, with more than $650,000 available for local charities and community groups, including those on the Central Coast.
To help prospective applicants with the application process, the Charitable Foundation will host a free, online workshop on Wednesday, September 20, from 10.30 am-noon with registrations available at https://events.humanitix.com/npcfworkshop-sep23
Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Executive Officer, Carly Bush, said project partners with a focus on important community issues are encouraged to attend the session and apply.
“Everyone is welcome to attend our workshop, which will be a fantastic opportunity for those interested in building capability and knowledge about grant writing, as well as the application process,” Bush said.
“We are really looking forward to collaborating with partners with initiatives supporting inclusivity, education and cultural diversity.
“We understand that times are challenging for Central Coast communities, leaving many who, amidst the current cost-of-living pressures, are also facing food insecurity, homelessness, and family and domestic violence.
“We know there are organisations across the Central Coast with innovative ideas who are making great strides for the community, and we encourage them to apply.”
Recent Central Coast grants include: $120,000 for Wheelchair Sports NSW ACT to deliver a road safety and disability awareness program; $55,000 to RizeUp for a vehicle to collect donations to furnish homes for survivors of domestic and family violence; and $50,000 for SMART Recovery to train 20 counsellors to deliver SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery meetings, which provide clients with evidence-based addiction and mental health support.
Applications can be submitted via the Charitable Foundation website and close at midnight on Tuesday, October 24.
