Local radio station Rhema 94.9 has been awarded $6,817 through the Federal Government’s Community Broadcasting Program, administered by the Community Broadcasting Foundation.
The funding will help Rhema with its operating costs like rent and power.
General Manager Rick Broome said the money will help the station refocus funding sources towards other projects.
“The grant we received from the Community Broadcasting Foundation will go toward the cost of rent and power usage at our transmitter site at Somersby,” he said.
“Receiving grants like this from the CBF allows us to use our income from sponsorship and donations for our core activities of producing and presenting top quality on-air content for our tens of thousands of dedicated listeners.”
Member for Robertson Gordon Reid said Rhema 94.9 was an outstanding local radio station which broadcasts to thousands of people.
“I look forward to Rhema 94.9 continuing to broadcast awesome music across the Central Coast community,” he said.
Rhema 94.9 is located at 16 Dyer Cres, West Gosford.
It is a community-run radio station and is always looking for new volunteers.
