Kincumber Avoca Cricket Club has been awarded funding through the Federal Government’s 2022-23 Volunteer Grants.

The club has received $3,388 to purchase seven new gazebos to protect club volunteers during training and weekend matches.

Federal Member for Robertson Gordon Reid congratulated the club.

“Sport is an important part of any community, and the mighty Kincumber Avoca Cricket Club will now have seven new gazebos to protect volunteers during summer matches,” he said.

“I am very pleased to see grant funding going towards supporting some outstanding projects and our amazing volunteers.

“I wish Kincumber Avoca Cricket Club all the best in the upcoming cricket season.

“These gazebos will benefit the club on hot, sunny game days.”

Kincumber Avoca Cricket Club member, Ben Campbell, thanked Reid for his support.

“During the cricket season, game days can be very hot and sunny,” he said.

“These gazebos will protect volunteers for seasons to come.”

The Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants provides not-for-profit organisations with funding of between $1,000 and $5,000 to support the work of its volunteers.

The 2023-24 Volunteer Grants are now open, and organisations are encouraged to contact the Member for Robertson’s office for an expressions of interest form.
