Build a pond and frogs will come

Sam Willis

If you’ve ever wanted to set up a frog-friendly garden habitat, here’s your chance.

Sam Willis, chief executive officer of the Community Environment Network, will present at the Australian Plants Society-Central Coast group’s next meeting on Saturday, August 12.

With a background in environmental science and education, Willis will show participants how to identify different frogs by their calls and how to monitor frogs by becoming citizen scientists in the local area.

There will be a selection of endemic native reeds and sedges for sale, especially suitable to plant around a new frog pond.

The meeting will start at 1.30pm at Phillip House, 21 Old Mt Penang Rd, Kariong.

Cost is $3 for members and visitors.
