Ploddy pays homage to the Mariners

Ploddy has had a makeover as a tribute to the Central Coast Mariners

The first thing motorists see when approaching the Gosford turn-off on the M1 is the Australian Reptile Park’s Ploddy the dinosaur, looking out over the hillside to welcome visitors from the south.

The Coast’s own “Big Thing” has had a makeover in honour of the Central Coast Mariners’ resounding victory in the A-League grand final.

A Park spokesperson said the remarkable 6-1 win has “brought immense pride and joy to our region”.

“We are thrilled to see our local team claim the championship,” the spokesperson said.

“To celebrate the Mariners’ exceptional achievement and show our unwavering support, the Australian Reptile Park has paid homage to the team in a unique and eye-catching way.

“We have painted Ploddy with an emblematic ‘#1 Mariners’ display.”
