Police were out in force over the weekend on May 27-28 for Operation Hondo, a high-visibility operation targeting dangerous driving on the Central Coast.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District worked alongside specialist units including Traffic and Highway Patrol and Aviation Command.
During the operation, police deployed highway patrol vehicles, road cycles and trail bikes into the area, providing a high visibility operation that saw two unregistered motorcycles seized, 56 Traffic Infringement Notices issued, two Youth Cautions issued and one Defect Notice.
Tuggerah Lakes Police District Commander, Superintendent Chad Gillies, said the operation was a success and similar operations would continue.
“While this operation was particularly focused on the Gwandalan and Summerland Point areas, these operations will continue as a regular occurrence right across the district,” he said.
“Dangerous activity on our roads and trails – whether by car, truck or motorbike – is not welcome on our Central Coast roads, and those putting lives at risk can expect to be charged.”
