Man hurt in explosion at Wyee

The Westpac helicopter flew the man to Royal North Shore

A man was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital on Tuesday, June 30, following an explosion at Wyee.

Just before 3pm, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance when the man, in his 30s, sustained serious burns to his face, upper torso and airway following an explosion while he was working on an electrical meter box.

He was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
