Have your say on national battery strategy

Battery technology is a fast-growing industry around the world

Member for Robertson Gordon Reid is encouraging people on the Central Coast to make a submission, with consultations now open for Australia’s first National Battery Strategy.

“The Federal Government wants to grow the technologies of the future, and battery technology is a fast-growing industry around the world, especially for storing renewable energy” Reid said.

“People on the Central Coast can now provide submissions to the Government on how we can grow the battery industry and I would encourage them to make a submission.

“This is the start of a national conversation on how Australia can grow a sustainable and thriving battery ecosystem.

“Creating a battery industry in Australia will mean more jobs, economic growth and a cleaner future

“The Government has committed to a community battery in Narara; to store electricity generated through rooftop solar panels on households.”

Reid said Australia has an incredible opportunity to capitalise on the growing demand for next generation battery technology.
