Family day raises $1,400 for Mingaletta

Aunty Dianne Edwards accepts the donation from members of the Pearl Beach Aboriginal History Group

Respecting the highs and lows of 65,000 years of Australian history and in keeping with the current conversation occurring nationwide, the Pearl Beach community celebrated January 26 with a Family Fun Day on the Beach and Sausage Sizzle.

Thanks to Pearl Beach Real Estate, the Pearl Beach Aboriginal History Group was able to raise $1,400 on the day, which was presented to Aunty Dianne Edwards of Mingaletta Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Hub.

Aunty Dianne said the Early Intervention Education Program would benefit from the donation.

“This is the fourth year that we’ve benefitted from the generosity of the Pearl Beach community and we really appreciate the efforts of all of the volunteers who worked so hard to raise this money,” she said.

“I always say – United we stand, divided we fall.”
