The draft Woy Woy Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan which Council currently has on exhibition is essential reading for all Peninsula residents.
The Study and Plan cover the whole Peninsula, not just Woy Woy.
The Study in particular is very informative and for the first time brings together predicted impacts of sea level rise and high rainfall events.
It shows (amongst other things) in map form, what would happen in a possible maximum flood (PMF) and what areas would become isolated due to road inundation etc.
It also shows which locations and properties on the hillsides would have high velocity flood waters flowing through them.
Important information for us all to be aware of.
The documents are available on Council’s website and at both Woy Woy and Umina libraries, (at Umina from February 2).
Submissions close February 15.
