Transformation of the Coast’s Visitor Information Centre

Central coast Council has committed to the upgrade and renewal of the existing Visitor Information Centre at The Entrance as part of its Operational Plan for 2022-23.

The work involves creating a more interactive experience with the ability to create tailored Eat, Stay and Play itineraries, replacement of existing amenities, an improved layout with new decking to take advantage of the magnificent Entrance channel and a dedicated space to showcase a wide spectrum of bespoke local products.

The upgrade will also include establishing a bookable function area for small-scale events and a purpose-built accessible greenroom and backstage office area to support the existing Memorial Park stage and performers.

Council says that a vibrant hub for locals and tourists to find key information will increase the uptake of day trips, overnight stays and consequent spending, which is vital for the continued growth of the region’s economy.

It also believes the upgrades will also improve the capacity to host large-scale events and festivals and to attract exciting new acts to the Coast.

Council has indicated it will make every effort to minimise impacts while the works are underway but has warned there may be increased vehicle traffic and noise in the area during construction

Throughout construction, the temporary Visitor Information Centre (and toilets) set up in Memorial Park will remain open to the public, seven days per week and responses to email and online enquiries will continue.

Council’s Customer Service point at this location will reopen one day a week from Monday, 6 February 2023.

Enquiries can be made at Council’s Customer Service Centre or by calling 02 4306 7900.
