Battery World Wyong takes ‘Wooden Spoon Award’ at Mariners Corporate Cup

The all-women’s team from Battery World Wyong took out the Wooden Spoon award at last year’s Central Coast Mariners Corporate Cup in November, scoring a trophy and tickets to a corporate box at a home game.

Local football fan favourite Josh Nisbet supported the team as coach during the annual event, which sees the club’s corporate partners, local businesses and Mariners players come together for a bonding and networking kick at Soccer5s.

Battery World Wyong Franchise Partners Susan and Paul Rodak said it was wonderful to see the community and local businesses getting into the spirit of friendly competition.

“Every year the Central Coast Mariners Corporate Cup is so much fun – we were the only all-women’s team, and we were determined to give it our all and meet new people,” Susan Rodak said.

“Battery World Wyong has been a Navy Partner of the Mariners Corporate Network for a few years now and it has been invaluable to grow our connections in the community and continue supporting other local charities and support groups.

“The whole Central Coast Mariners team and supporting staff come to Battery World Wyong now to get all their battery needs sorted which is great fun.”

As Battery World Franchise Partners for almost five years, the Rodaks believe fate played a role in their joining the renowned Australian company.

“It is no secret that I own and operate a successful ANZ mobile lending business, but I was also looking for a business to run together with my husband,” Rodak said.

“Battery World was absolutely a no-brainer – not only has Paul been working in the smash repairs business for 30 years and loves all things auto, but our son Fred has Retinitis Pigmentosa, the leading cause of youth blindness.

“Battery World stood out as a perfect fit as the company was committed to Guide Dogs Australia at the time when we joined.

“We knew we had made the right choice.”

Rodak is also a current board member of Cure Blindness Australia.

The couple champions excellent customer service, Australian-made products, and dedication to providing essential services to those in need.

“We want to give people the specialised advice they need for everything from their four-wheel drive or boat, right down to caravans, solar power and domestic batteries,” Rodak said.

Battery World General Manager Johnny Kennedy was happy to see such wonderful local community engagement and said he was proud to have such strong business leaders within the Battery World network.

“Susan and Paul and their team at Wyong are a prime example of the quality customer service and product expertise we deliver every day,” he said.

“Both have demonstrated their commitment to deliver exceptional service to the people of the (Central Coast) area.”

Kennedy said locally owned franchises like Wyong were the lifeblood of their community and the regions they belonged to.
