Some buildings will be demolished and new ones built to accommodate 95 more students and three additional teachers at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School at Shelly Beach.
Other classrooms will be refurbished to provide new and improved general learning areas for a total 630 students.
The three-stage project will also include an additional 10-space car park in the first stage.
Stage 2 will see the demolition of two classroom blocks and construction of two new buildings as well as partial demolition of another two blocks to create a connection with the two new buildings at the first level.
The existing library in one of the buildings to be demolished will be relocated into an upgraded and refurbished space in Block E.
On completion of the first two stages the demountable building (Block F) will be removed and the multi-purpose hall also will be refurbished and upgraded.
Apart from practical improvements to teaching spaces, the development will incorporate new landscaping on the site and other design changes at the school entry façade.
The detailed development application (3345/2022) can be viewed on Central Coast Council’s website.
