Relive the 1920s and help local youth

Rodric White will belt out jazz tunes

RENOWNED Central Coast pianist Rodric White will be banging out jazz tunes to get people in the swing of the 1920s at a Rotary Brisbane Water shindig on October 29, with funds raised to go local youth projects.

White, a regular at music events on the Coast and in Sydney, is also known for his piano playing at David Jones in the city.

His appearance at the Rotary fund-raiser for local youth projects is a real coup, said club spokesperson Di Bartok.

“Rodric will really set the mood for the night, whether people want to dance or just listen to 1920s swinging jazz,” Bartok said.

“But there will be more.

Dale Trueman will talk about the mean streets of Sydney in the 1920s

“We are excited to have another renowned entertainer, Dale Trueman, who will regale us all with tales of the mean streets of Sydney in the 1920s.

“Dale performs regularly in shows about some of those sinister Razor Gang criminals, which include the notorious Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh who, along with their male sidekicks, ruled the dark streets of Sydney.

“The night will be a great opportunity for people to don all that colourful 1920s gear.

“Dress  to kill – or perhaps I should reword that.”

The 1920s Shindig will be at Ocean Beach Surf Club, starting at 6pm on October 29.

Price is $110 for a three-course meal, with entertainment and raffles.

Details are on the Rotary Brisbane Water Facebook page, bookings through Eventbrite.
