Central Coast Council is considering a proposal to convert a garage in residential Hamlyn Terrace to establish a hairdressing salon.
The owner at 1 Skyhawk Ave wants change of use consent to alter the existing two-car garage into a single garage and use the remaining space for a hair studio.
It is in a R2 low density residential zone which under the Central Coast Local Environment Plan allows a home business with consent.
A Statement of Environment Effects submitted with the development application considers the proposal to have minimal impact on the adjoining dwelling and neighbourhood and would complement the existing dwelling and streetscape.
However, the development application doesn’t provide any information about the proposed hours of operation of the hair salon, the expected number of clients, extra car parking arrangements or related signage to be installed.
The development application (2446/2022) is open for public comment on Council’s website until Friday, September 23.
