This month is traditionally the time that the Central Coast’s 15 Surf Lifesaving Clubs conduct information and registration days for nippers ahead of the new summer season.
Clubs across the Coast are hard at work preparing for the 2022/23 nipper season which starts in just a few weeks.
North Avoca Surf Life Saving Club will be hosting their nippers registration day on the 11th of September from 3pm to 5pm.
Kim Findlay, North Avoca’s newly elected Club President is encouraging locals to come down to the club to meet members and learn about the nippers program.
North Avoca, like many clubs, has a varied and interesting nippers program that encourages all children to be safe and have fun around water and the surf.
Umina Surf Lifesaving club is also holding their information day for new families on Sunday, Sept 11 from 10 am – 1 pm.
For most clubs across the region, the nippers’ season starts on the first or second Sunday of October.
Nippers instruction has come a long way in the last decade and involves a lot of training of parent volunteers in safety, coordination and having fun.
