Killarney Vale takes Black Diamond Men’s Cup

Grand final action between Killarney Vale and Terrigal

Killarney Vale has taken out the grand final of the AFL Hunter Central Coast Black Diamond Men’s Cup, defeating Terrigal 11.5.71 to 8.10.58 at Adelaide St Oval on September 17.

Killarney Vale capitalised on the home ground advantage to seal the deal after winding up the comp as Minor Premiers.

The game was the culmination of a full day of grand final action, played over two venues, as the 2022 season came to a close.

Also at Adelaide St Oval, the Black Diamond Women’s Cup saw Newcastle emerge victorious over Killarney Vale 3.6.24 to 3.3.21 and the Women’s Black Diamond Plate resulted in a victory for Lake Macquarie 9.5.59 over Cardiff 5.8.38.

At Bateau Bay, Warners Bay took the Black Diamond Men’s Shield from Muswellbrook 8.12.60 to 7.4.46.

In the Black Diamond Men’s Plate, Nelsons Bay 9.5.59 was victorious over Newcastle City 5.8.38.

The weekend action followed a five-month season which saw game postponements and cancellations due to torrential rains impact grounds all over the Central Coast earlier in the year.
