A suspended driver has been charged after he was allegedly caught driving almost five times over the legal alcohol limit.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District went to Toukley after receiving reports concerning the welfare of a driver in the area.
At about 3.45pm on Thursday, August 11, Police stopped a Mitsubishi Triton travelling north along Polimar Pde, Toukley.
Police spoke to the 56-year-old male driver before checks revealed he had been suspended from driving.
The man underwent a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station, where he underwent a secondary breath analysis, which returned an alleged reading of 0.244.
The man was charged with drive with high range prescribed concentration of alcohol, and drive while suspended.
