An upgrade of the playground in Woolmers Cres, Mardi, is expected to start in June.
Improvement work, weather permitting, will include the removal and replacement of the existing play equipment with a natural, animal-inspired theme.
Safety features will include a mix of mulch and rubber softfall in and around the play space and fencing for protection from the adjacent roadway.
There’ll also be seating, picnic tables, shelters and established trees will remain to provide natural shade over the play space. The demolition of the existing playspace was undertaken in mid April with construction commencing in June 2022 (weather permitting).
This upgrade is fully funded by $105,000 from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
The program supports local Councils to deliver priority local road and community infrastructure projects across Australia, supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
