Whilst I agree with Bruce Hyland’s (op)position on smart phones being required to eat out (“Smart phone app requirement outrageous”, issue 271), I would hazard a guess that if one can afford to eat out then with the plethora of cheap phones and plans one can certainly afford to own one.
As an aged pensioner with a disability I find it quite valuable at times to be able to call for a taxi.
When I left some baggage inside a cab; the driver himself was perfectly happy to return it to me where he had dropped me off after I called the taxi company, for which I am eternally grateful.
