Shoppers dig deep for Mary Mac’s

Woy Woy shoppers have donated over $1,000 worth of gifts to be distributed to people in need this holiday season.

In a partnership with Mary Mac’s Place, Deepwater Plaza has collected gifts from shoppers this month, with the final pick up on December 16.

Event organisers say after collecting four trolley loads of donations, they estimate the gifts to be worth over $1,000.

Manager of Mary Mac’s Place, Catherine Pantehis, said the group had been asking for gifts targeted at men aged 25 and over.

“This year we have been overwhelmed with gift donations for women and children, leaving little to no gifts for our male friends at Christmas time,” Pantehis said.

“The gift donations for men will ensure no one goes without receiving something special for Christmas at Mary Mac’s Place.”

Customers donated a variety of gifts including socks and underwear, chocolates and treats, bathroom packs, and tea and coffee packs.

The gifts were then wrapped in time for the a Christmas meet up on December 16.
