Year Six students at Pretty Beach Public School hosted a Mini Fete for the whole school to help raise money for their farewell.
Classes from Kindergarten to Year Five participated on the day with a wide variety of activities and games to choose from.
Principal Karen Wardlaw said it was a successful day and she was proud of the Year Six students who had shown leadership and organisation during the event.
“Year Six went above and beyond by providing prizes and goodies to students for participating,” Wardlaw said.
“They also provided major prizes for the most successful at each of the competition activities.”
She said they had needed additional planning to deliver a successful event due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“Students remained in cohorts whilst participating and Year Six students showed great initiative in ensuring stalls were run safely,” Wardlaw said.
“Thanks so much to parents and families who were so generous in providing equipment and resources, and even got involved by painting and making items for the Year Six stalls.”
Activities and events on the day ranged from sport and skill competitions, a nail salon, face painting, dunking stations, sponge throwing, special treats and duck bobbing.
“Congratulations to our wonderful Year Six students for hosting the extremely successful Mini Fete,” Wardlaw said.
“Once again, the PBPS community shined – great teamwork to make a worthy event such a success.”
