Central Coast Council Administrator, Dick Persson, has terminated the employment of Gary Murphy as Chief Executive Officer of Central Coast Council.
The termination is in accordance with the provisions of Murphy’s Contract of Employment, effective immediately, Persson said.
Recruitment of a new Chief Executive Officer will commence shortly.
In the meantime, Acting CEO Rik Hart and Chief Operating Officer Malcolm Ryan will continue to head the organisation through the challenging times ahead, Persson said.
Meanwhile, Persson will hand down his preliminary report into the financial crisis facing the Council on December 3.
Persson was appointed Administrator of the Council on October 30 by Local Government Minister Shelley Hancock as councillors were suspended in the face of an expected Council deficit of $89M.
