Year 2 students from Woy Woy Public School went on an excursion to the nature reserve at Kincumba Mountain on October 22.
“Students learnt how to tell the difference between certain birds and their birdsongs, went on an invertebrate hunt and then went on a bush walk,” said school principal, Ms Ona Buckley. “On our walk we were exceptionally lucky and were able to hear the Red-Crowned Toadlet call in its habitat.
“The Red-Crowned Toadlet has been listed as vulnerable and finding them is extremely hard, so our guide became excited when she heard its call. “We all had a fantastic day,” Ms Buckley said.
