Broadwater Court Waterfront Estate, Kincumber, will host the Beth Miller Artastic Art Exhibition on November 17.
A retired teacher, Beth reconnected with her love of the arts after a friend suggested that she hold an art class for other retirees. “That was some five years ago, and Beth watched on as her small weekly class grew to over 20 enthusiastic students with varying experiences in the art world,” said the Estate’s, Dianne Lewis.
“Beth’s teaching life as Head of Department at a large co-ed North Shore school in Auckland, New Zealand, followed years studying at both Auckland and Massey Universities, and three years studying art.
“These years were challenging and demanding, but also included visits to Europe to actually see the art being studied. “A visit to Europe and Singapore to check the standard of art being presented was another highlight, as her school was the fi rst in New Zealand school to introduce The International Baccalaureate Examination. “Today, her expertise is still being given back to the community with a weekly class,” Dianne said. The Artastic Exhibition will run from 10am to 4pm. There will be demonstrations throughout the day, a lucky dip and raffl es, with donations going to Aussie Helpers.
